Status

Just back from the gym. It is a beau­ti­ful day out there. And I have an oppor­tu­ni­ty to look at the real­ism of my start­ing points.

I did­n’t have a spot­ter with me, so I had a lit­tle reser­va­tion on the bench about push­ing things too hard, and I did­n’t always bring the bar all the way down. That said, I did six reps at 115 pounds and five reps at 125 pounds. So I fall a bit short of my ear­li­er assess­ment of being able to do eight reps at 120, but I’m prob­a­bly not so far off that I should refig­ure my goals. We’ll just see how it goes.

I also cheat­ed on my start­ing weight. I was clothed when I weighed myself the oth­er day and it was at night. I neglect­ed to weigh myself this morn­ing, but right now with­out clothes I come in at 81.2kg. All those dis­claimers are just to allay any­one’s fear that a 1.8kg (4lb) loss in less than 48 hours might be an unhealthy drop.

I stopped at the gro­cery store on the way home, so now I can make a smooth­ie, take a show­er, and have a steak for din­ner. Yum! It was cool too, every­thing I want­ed at the store was on sale. So I still have a lit­tle mon­ey for the rest of the week­end. Yay!
