NAME A CD YOU OWN THAT NO-ONE ELSE ON YOUR FRIENDS LIST HAS:

Con Repetizione, by Conrad Schnitzler. Strange German electronic experimental music.

NAME A BOOK YOU OWN THAT NO-ONE ELSE ON YOUR FRIENDS LIST HAS:

The Joy of Handsetting Type by Fred C. Williams. Pretty sure about this. Maybe some of my friends share my interest in setting type by hand, but since my copy says it is #89 of 125 printed, I bet none has one of the other 124.

NAME A MOVIE YOU OWN ON DVD/VHS, WHATEVER, THAT NO-ONE ELSE ON YOUR FRIENDS LIST HAS:

Tarkovsky’s Solaris. Watch, Xris or nnnuts will prove me wrong by having it.

NAME A PLACE YOU HAVE VISITED THAT NO-ONE ELSE ON YOUR FRIENDS LIST HAS:

San Francisco County Jail, in San Bruno. Of course, it’s possible with all the time he spent in law enforcement, that xanadutoo has been there. Ooops, and one other who I know might have visited, so I’ll specify the men’s jail just to be safe.

No WAY! I’m so impressed! I had no idea that you were a Tarkovsky fan.

If you have Stalker and The Sacrifice on DVD, I may have to visit New England soon and watch lots of Russian movies with you.

I have to admit, you always surprise me.

I’ve never seen Soderburgh’s version, but I’d sort of like to.

And even so, as a sci fi fan, knowing about Solaris is pretty hard core. I think you might like some of Tarkovsky’s other films. Are you a Stanislaw Lem fan?

    Deal!

I’ll try to make it sometime before the end of the year. Have to wait and see what comes my way, both regarding money and vacation, with my review at work. So I can’t make definite plans yet, but I’ll let you know.

    Sorry, didn’t answer your question.

Stanislaw Lem wrote a bunch of very influential science fiction. His short stories tend to be very mind-bending. If I’m not mistaken, he wrote the story on which Solaris is based. Check your DVD; it has some stuff about Lem. Better yet, check your library or book store. It’s good stuff.
