All woke up and nowhere to go

I’m afraid that if I let myself sleep in, it will be hard for me to get into the pattern of getting up early. So I left my alarms on even though it was after midnight when I went to sleep last night. Since my neighborhood is still one big party until 2:30 or 3:00am (why is it that some people never learned volume control?) I have started wearing earplugs to bed. This morning I woke up and wasn’t conscious of the alarm clock going off until I pulled the earplugs out. That’s pretty impressive because I could still hear everyone hooting and hollering and CARRYING ON CONVERSATIONS AS THOUGH THE PERSON NEXT TO THEM WERE FIVE MILES AWAY through the earplugs, but I managed to get to sleep anyway.

So now I’m awake and I need to find something to do other than just go back to sleep. Where are the hollering drunk people when you need ’em?
