I’m ba-a-a-a-ck

Safely off the airplane and back on home turf. As much as I didn’t want to leave, I have to admit that it’s nice to be back in San Francisco. The trip to Nashville was too short, but it will be nice to sleep in my own bed and it’s already nice to hit familiar spots instead of being a guest in a strange city.

Had dinner at the World Wrapps by Safeway on Market Street. There’s a woman I see here frequently who usually spends a couple of minutes chatting with me if she has a chance. If she didn’t mention her boyfriend so often I might havve developed a crush by now, but of course, that’s not the point. The sun is out and I’m among familiar faces and places. I’m back in town and it feels good.

Of course, I didn’t get anything to eat since a bowl of cereal this morning Nashville time, so part of my euphoria right now is related to a full tummy.

I shouldn’t have any trouble getting to sleep tonight. Maybe I can get up and run tomorrow morning. I miss the running already. One thing that being on vacation reminded me is that it’s no fun having pants that are too small (or rather, a gut that’s too big.) It’s one thing to suffer through aday of work all stuffed into a waist a couple of inches smaller than my own. It’s yet another to be relaxing on vacation and still feeling the pinch. Sure, I shouldn’t be wearing pants that don’t fit either way, but it’s more noticably poignant when I’m supposed to be relaxed and comfortable.

Maybe a running regimen will help with that.

  1. Everybody else made it back
Everybody else made it back safely, too, and share your feelings about home. But we’re tickled to death you could come.
