Premieres January 2005. sigh It’s TV I don’t have any choice about. I will love it.
I hope the 2‑part “miniseries” comes out on DVD real soon. I’m a fool itching to part with his money.
I liked the miniseries.
I liked the miniseries. Starbuck as a woman with the whole sexual tension thing with Apollo was a little weird (picture Dirk Benedict, Richard Hatch and bad 70’s pr0n jazz), liked the navy-ness of Galactica, and liked the tie-in to the old series — the old vipers, etc.
I thought that the
I thought that the miniseries had all the right ingredients and then they went and didn’t do anything with it. It made a good teaser to make us want to see some actual Battlestar Galactica episodes, but it didn’t stand on its own very well.
It’s funny how almost every sci-fi series starts out with serious military pretenses, and then by the end of the first season everyone’s leaning around drinking beers on the bridge. The original Battlestar Galactica always had some tension between the military and the civilian population, and that was one of its (few) strong points. But even still, rarely did anyone act like there was an officer in the room, because hey, the CO was Dad and there’s sis over there at Ops.
Vipers.… yes, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Of all the ships in science fiction, the one I’d most like to have a chance to fly would be the Viper. What a perfect design. X‑Wings, ugh. Runabouts or shuttlecraft from any of the Star Trek series? yawn. Vipers were *it*
The Cylon ships were pretty damn cool, too.
I see the new series has
I see the new series has Donnie Darko’s mom as the President.
Guess we’ll be seeing lots more of her at conventions, etc.
