Date report

Went out on a date tonight. Saw Hero at the Parkway, which was OK, and then to coffee on Piedmont in Oaktown.

We had some pleasant conversation, and none of it was exactly forced, but it was all really basic “oh, so what’s your job like?” stuff. I recall thinking that she’s real nice and all, but that we didn’t seem to have anything in common.

Oh well. Gathering information and all, right? I got to go to a movie … Read the rest

The Time Tracker saga continues

Everyone got another message today with my race results. Here’s my latest missive:

Thanks again for this explanation, but I still don’t see why I and everyone else on my list are continuing to receive messages from your company 72 hours after the race finished. Surely this is not what you intended your system to do. It’s definitely not what was advertised.

This is absurd. Is there any way to stop these messages from spamming my friends? This was supposed

My apologies to the friends I spammed today

I signed up for a service that was offered on the USHalf.com website. For $3 per number, this company said that they would send my split times and finishing time to the cellphones or email addresses I specified. Now, in my mind, three dollars is a bit steep for sending out an email to an SMS gateway, especially when I had to do the work of finding out the email addresses of my friends’ SMS email gateways. But it … Read the rest

OK here we go

Looks like The Weather Channel was right. I get to run my first half marathon in the rain. This should prove interesting.

I had a dream that I overslept. I woke up at 8am and the starting gun had fired an hour earlier. I was so angry with myself and sad and wished that I could redo the morning and try again. Then I opened my eyes and realized, “It’s still dark!”

I’m up a couple pounds today and my … Read the rest

Am I just a Negative Nancy?

My boss just bought a Segway. One of my co-workers’ boyfriend is a Segway salesman, and we’re talking about having guided Segway-based tours of the Fisherman’s Wharf area. I’m hearing a lot about Segways lately, and this morning they convinced me to come out and ride one.

Here in San Francisco, the Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance banning Segways on the sidewalks. But apparently every new Segway comes with a card describing the loopholes in the law, so that if … Read the rest

My handwriting gives me away

From http://www.handwritingwizard.com/

For a graphologist, the spacing on the page reflects the writer’s attitude toward their own world and relationship to things in his or her own space.  If the inputted data was correct Steven has left lots of white space on the all four borders of the paper. Steven fills up just the center area of the page. If this is true, then Steven has  a particular shyness toward people and a fear of moving too fast in any

US Half Marathon coming up on Sunday

They have a feature where I can send the race results to people’s cellphones (by email actually, but it shows up via SMS text message).

I don’t know how much it costs, and I won’t know until after I fill out the whole form, but if you want to know my race time and splits, leave me your cellphone number AND your mobile provider. Do it here (I’ve made it friends-only) or drop me an email. If it’s not too … Read the rest
