Cross-training

Rode my bike into the office today. Even with traffic and not pushing particularly hard, I averaged 16mph on a mostly-flat route. That’s pretty good for me, especially not pushing hard. I used to be able to average 19mph on a flat course, but that was pushing as hard as I could and, you know, back in the day. And where do you find a flat course, anyway?

So I think all this running is making me a stronger cyclist. I haven’t even been cycling much, but my quick jaunt in to the office felt great, better than it’s felt cycling in a long time.

It was only 8.5 miles in, but if I can get some of these fires put out here at work, maybe I’ll go for a run up here at Embarcadero or over to the Marina Green. Maybe. We’ll see.

Yes, I’m AT WORK. on a Saturday. This is not good, but I’ve got stuff broken down that has to work. And basically I broke it, so here I am. Let’s try and make this go fast so I can go out and run.

Maybe run Twin Peaks again tomorrow? That’d be fun.
