Progress on the home front
Today (oops, I mean last night) I moved the last truckload of belongings from my old apartment to my new one. I no longer need run across town dragging boxes and equipment and whatnot.
And not a moment too soon, since in about 30 hours I’ll be boarding a plane for NYC to see xris3 and vandanazoe and, I hope, meet jennybloog (psst! Are we still on for Run Hit Wonder?)
I’ve been waging a war here against my possessions. Trying to rid myself of as many as I can and give the ones I want to keep their proper place. That sounds noble, but it’s dirty work. It’s a war against boxes and piles. Today the piles made headway against the boxes, even though the boxes brought reinforcements. Since I’ve put a number of the boxes into recycling I might start putting piles back into boxes in order to give myself something a little closer to sanity here in the SplicerPad.
I did find one of the missing power supplies, but alas, not the one to the network hub. If it does not show up in the next hour or so before I go to sleep, I’ll buy a new hub at lunch tomorrow. This is sickening. “For want of a shoelace…”, indeed.
It’s very nice that I don’t have to go back to the old ‘hood to do anything, though. This is a huge, huge step. And the rest will come along as it comes.

My new director is being a time-off nazi (mostly because I rememebered like, yesterday, that I should put in for the day off). Working on it though — I’m going to leave my cell # on your yahoo IM, even though you’re away — let me know that you got it.
