The box­es are los­ing and the piles are winning.

I broke down a cou­ple more box­es. Most of these are going right to recy­cling, as they’ve been in enough moves that I don’t think they’ll sur­vive anoth­er. There’s also the issue of space and I don’t real­ly have any place to store card­board, even fold­ed up. That’s kind of scary.

Today I went to my Triathlon Club run­ning work­out. Coach seems real good, and allayed my fears about my heartrate by refer­ring me to an arti­cle on his web­site. But I have real­ly jumped into the deep end here. I’m train­ing with ath­letes who are way above my lev­el, and that’s good. I have room to grow and these are all peo­ple that can help me along. Dra­cun­cu­lus recent­ly gave me the advice to find a social cir­cle where I can climb to the top and attract the female of the species with my dom­i­nant social sta­tus and power.

Well, just to be ornery, I’m join­ing the Gold­en Gate Triathlon Club. I showed up for the meet­ing tonight and there were some tru­ly gor­geous women there. I am WAY out of my class.

I’ve looked at near­ly 6500 pho­tos from Run Hit Won­der try­ing to find one where I can be seen. Appar­ent­ly there aren’t any with my race num­ber vis­i­ble, as search­ing on my race num­ber does­n’t help. Hot baths should be fol­lowed up with a large cup of ice water (crushed, not cubed) con­sumed on the front deck look­ing out over the lights of the city, seen bare­foot and only in one’s bathrobe as the cloud cov­er zooms past quick­ly, so low that one would con­sid­er whether it were low clouds or high fog.

Just had my first prop­er bath in prob­a­bly half a decade. Bath fizz with flow­er­petals in it and all. Now my skin is all silky-smooth and I smell flo­ral fresh. I kid you not.

I’m very very attached to my old RS/6000 Mod­el 250. It’s the first ever pro­duc­tion machine to run on a Pow­er­PC chip, a 601 scream­ing at 66 mega­hertz. First, I had a great time.

Sec­ond, to all of you who wrin­kled your noses and declined my invi­ta­tion, it’s just as well. You prob­a­bly would­n’t have been into the show.
